Some people’s experience of learning is to be sat in front of an instructor who exposes them to numerous PowerPoint slides whilst “covering the topics”. To quote the Chinese Philosopher Confucius, “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand”.
The good news is that approach quoted by Confucius all those years ago is now achieved by the design of educationally robust on line learning as produced by Solutions.
Our course designs approach to managing learning, is underpinned through adherence to 5 main learning theories:
- Bloom‘s Taxonomy
- Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction
- Keller’s ARCS model for Learner Motivation
- Bersin’s five measures for e-Learning Effectiveness
- Kirkpatrick’s four levels of Learning Evaluation Measurement
We operate an array of learning interactions mapping to a variety of learning situations – from basic to advanced. We offer customised course module assessment strategies. Our learning interactions are mapped to instructional methodologies like Bloom’s Taxonomy and Gagne’s Nine Events. My eSKiLS exclusive feedback reporting functionality enables you to continually connect with your learners’ experience, objectively measure and constantly improve your e learning courses.
All of our courses are designed by truly world class subject matter, instructional design and software developers mapped to best practice to ensure the experience does what it should namely to equip the learner with knowledge and skills that changes the way a person operates.
At Solutions we develop all of our on line learning at the appropriate educational level for the target audiences.
Completing learning on line if designed correctly is as effective and in some cases more effective than classroom training. It offers the learner the opportunity to complete the learning at a time, place and pace to suit themselves. In addition the way Solutions design the module assessments and records them gives the employer extremely robust evidence of learning.

Here at Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council we have relied on the Solutions team to train our trainers in moving and handling since 1994 and, for the last six years, we have used their on-line moving and handling of people course to prepare staff for their practical learning. The on-line course has proven to be very worthwhile for many reasons.
With the new Backs for the Future 2016 course we can now select the option of simply allowing staff to just complete the assessments, particularly useful to partner our competence refresher sessions. We find this incredibly good value for money when compared with other options.
Learning and Development Manager
Here at South Western Ambulance Service we engaged Solutions to design on line learning for both our 1,000 plus community responders and 3,000 ambulance staff in conflict resolution and responding to Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, Nuclear, and Explosive incidents.
The roll out and implementation and support we got from Solutions was superb. They supported us at very stage. The learning management system is awesome and gave us the very comprehensive level of reporting we need.
Head of Education and Training
Staff feedback on Advanced stroke life support has been particularly positive in relation to course content and how the resource manages to maintain interest throughout. Just as importantly as Solutions host the learning all we had to do was give them the e mails of staff, they set them up and provided weekly reports on progress and every month comprehensive feedback ( which was extremely good) on the value that staff got from completing the course. In addition their support desk even answered a query on a bank holiday. We have been extremely impressed with both the course and support.
Clinical Specialist Welsh Ambulance Service
Imperial College London engaged Solutions to design on line risk assessment training for staff working in a range of areas including workshops, laboratories and kitchens. Very impressed at the whole process right from identifying the training need through to implementation.
