Today 10 staff employed by Orkney Isles Council successfully completed a five day intensive training course on how to risk assess, then train staff on how to move and handle people with disabilities across the 20 inhabited Orkney Islands above mainland Scotland. A long trip to work but rewarded by a 100% pass rate from really enthusiastic staff who will all be shortly awarded with a Level 3 qualification for their efforts..
Solutions Training and Advisory offer both instructor led train the trainer courses for moving and handling of people as well as moving and handling of objects. E-learning courses are also available, and currently the entire Welsh Ambulance service train their paramedics using Solutions Training e-learning software titled Backs For The Future.
