Course Aims and Objectives

To enable participants to support vulnerable people/children in a health or social care setting by providing consistent and appropriate manual handling training and safer handling practise in the workplace.

A 4 day course for motivated individuals who are interested in delivering manual handling β€˜in house’ training, but may have no previous experience of delivering manual handling training.

All participants must be prepared to instruct and assess staff in basic people or child handling techniques. It is essential that individuals who attend this course have experience in manual handling within their work environment; have the skills to undertake risk assessments; and have the capability to deliver effective training and provide supervisory support within the workplace. There is an expectation that participants will undertake pre course and homework activities.
