Equality and Diversity

If you employ people and provide a service to customers, you are likely to be dealing with equality and diversity issues on a daily basis and faced with complying with the NEW 2010 Equality Act.

Differences that develop between people quite often originate from personal characteristics like culture, background, religion, attitude etc. If they are not identified and resolved quickly they may lead to customer complaints and internal disputes between employees which have to be dealt with through formal procedures. This often involves managers and HR professionals, and in some cases may lead to compensation payouts. Overall the process can be costly in terms of time and money – two very precious resources.

To protect people and reduce risks in the work place, organisations are advised to adequately provide Equality and Diversity training for staff in an effort to raise awareness, improve staff and customer relations and achieve full compliance with the law.

The Equality Act became law on October 1st 2010 and will replace, update, simplify and strengthen all previous equality legislation and deliver a simple, modern and accessible framework of discrimination law that protects people from unfair treatment.

All organisations have professional, moral and legal obligations to disseminate and effectively implement equality and diversity principles to staff at all levels. Our courses are designed to provide a practical, interesting, interactive and enjoyable way of achieving this.
