Course Introduction

This course has been designed to ensure each member of your transport team is delivering up to date care and management so that, risks are reduced, to both employees and passengers.

The course centres on equipping staff with the knowledge and skills to improve both safety, and comfort during transportation. This is achieved by empowering staff to understand the causes and effects of disabilities, learning how to move and handle passengers safely and provide first aid skills to deal with foreseeable emergencies.

This course stimulates an ideal climate to develop positive attitudes, practices and motivation which is essential to improving staff confidence and performance in this sometimes neglected work area.

This programme was originally designed whilst Solutions ran a local authority transport service between 1998 and 2000 and has been developed since with the input of many transport providers and the ambulance service. It is uniquely able to offer an EDEXCEL / BTEC accredited short course award for successful candidates.
